My Family Philosophy...

In 15+ years of experience in nannying and babysitting kids from infants to young teenagers, as well as many years of being an older sister, I’ve cultivated a very rounded approach to family and child-care. I've taken Psychology, Child Development, Arts and Environmental Studies courses and am certified in child CPR and First Aid.

As a childcare provider I have always been more than happy to get kids exploring outdoors, eating healthfully and using all of their senses to learn about the world. I've always found that little ones thrive cooperatively in an environment where they are encouraged to be independent while also learning to communicate thoughtfully and compassionately. Though I'm not a parent, my experiences have taught me a lot about my child-rearing philosophies: encourage adventure and inquisitiveness; allow freedom and creativity; foster respect for elders and others; involvement in a range of activities like dancing, rock climbing, finding edible plants, reading, and creating music.

In my free time I'm hiking, at the beach, doing yoga and/or brainstorming ways to help the planet. As one who supports families I am always looking to lend you a hand or an ear to point you to resources to help your family thrive.

Exploring the world of the doula has left me with a sense of uncovering more of the story than I'd previously known; now I have an idea of what goes into "before" baby's arrival and I'm here to be your ally. Eight years of practicing healing touch and yoga have equipped me with the tools and body wisdom to help guide you through what can be the most challenging and rewarding journey of your life.

I’m so happy to be walking alongside you!
